HOUSE LEAGUE

REGISTRATION FOR 2024 Spring Session Opens February 1st!!!

The Aurora Arsenal have been running a house league for area children for over 40 years. The house league’s mission is for children to have the opportunity to learn basic soccer skills while having fun. We emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship, and encourage parents to get involved. The House league includes divisions from

Frequently Asked Questions

All age groups are divided by gender.

So what are you waiting for?  Register NOW

You can register players by logging in and using the "Register" or "My Account" buttons (at the top right of each page).  Registration for Spring 2024 is now open!  Registration has started and continues until March 15th. After March 15th your child will not be guaranteed a roster spot, and the registration cost is higher. Registration is not usually possible once the season begins, but exceptions may be made, depending on the numbers for each division and teams. For 2024, the cost is $75 for one session and $130 if you play both (Spring and Fall), a $20 discount. Registration for the Fall session will take place in June. Teams will be different each session.

How long is the season?

The Spring session starts in the middle of May and the Fall session typically starts in the middle of September and both will have 6 matchdays. There will be no matches on Memorial Day weekend (Spring) and during Borderlands (Fall) 2024 weekend. For 2024, the first match for the Spring session will be on Saturday, May 11th and the first match for the Fall session will be on Saturday, September 7th.

Practices will typically start 1-2 weeks before the season starts, depending on each individual coach and the weather. Matches take place on Saturday mornings at Knox Field.

How do practices work?

Each team will practice one night per week. Practices are held in the evenings on weekdays and run for about 1 hour. During registration, you have the option to indicate practice nights that you would prefer. You can also log back into your account to change your choices before teams are formed. Please do not email requests as they can only be submitted with your registration. Select at least 2 options for practice days, as it is very difficult to balance teams. The coach will contact each player and let them know the night and time of practice.

When will my team practice?

We will make every effort to accommodate practice night requests. As noted, we do request that you give us at least 2 nights for available practices so that we can best fill out the teams. NO requests will be granted if you register your child late.
(The best way to influence the practice day for your child's team is to volunteer to coach; coaching availability plays a big role in determining when practices occur!)

What equipment do I need?

Every player must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle to every practice and match. We encourage players to wear soccer cleats and soccer socks. Bringing your own ball to practice is a great idea. The coach will have a couple of balls to use if you don't own one.

Can a player change teams?

Changing teams is possible, but must have a valid reason and it has to happen within the first week of team practices. We will try to accommodate requests, but cannot promise that all changes are possible.

What age division will my child play in?

We are use the U.S. Soccer guidelines for house age groups.  The information below to determine which division your child will play in:

Born in:
2018, 2019:  U6*
2016, 2017:  U8
2014, 2015:  U10
2012, 2013:  U12

*If your four year old turns five anytime in 2024, he or she is very welcome to play in U6!

Can a player play in a different age group?

During registration, you can request to have your child play up or down an age group. If you feel that your eight year old is an excellent athlete and should play up a division in U10, please state so during registration. Conversely, if your 7 year old is shy and would be better suited for U6, please let us know. We recognize that children can vary in their confidence and skills, but that moving children down an age group should be made so that a child should fit in with the competition and not dominate it. If you have a four year old that you feel is capable of playing in U6, please contact the league coordinator.

I love to help... can I coach?

We are always in need of coaches and assistant coaches. Best part your child's fee is waived if you volunteer! Please consider volunteering if you have the time. No experience is needed, especially for the younger age groups. Being a head coach, you get to choose the night and time of your practice and your child's registration fee will be waived.
If you do not have prior coaching (or soccer) experience, we can help. Aurora Arsenal has a Director of Coaching who can help with practice regimen and will even help to run a practice. There are also high school volunteers who can help run practices and act as an assistant coach.

Coaches Meeting/Training. End of August - More details will be released at a later date.
